about

Sometimes there is a tendency to view death as a common experience we all head toward - like a single door through which we all must pass. But here I want to consider it alongside birth, and life itself, as something essentially unique – something we each face in our own way.

lyrics

december
and we marched through the snow
and as the sky lit up around us, we fell
We all fell, under enemy fire.

and as I lie here now, I watch my friends.
my comrades, my fellow men

some fall like stones
some like stars from the sky
some like autumn leaves
some like tears

we all fall . . . but we don't all fall alike.
